MCAN Foundation — More Than a Decade of Hope and Healing

When darkness feels overwhelming, even the faintest glimmer of light can awaken hope. Maheka Mirpuri’s journey with MCAN — Move for Cancer Awareness — is that light. A light born from loss, sustained by love, and guided by an unyielding resolve to make a difference.

In 2013, that promise took form through MCAN, founded by Maheka Mirpuri in collaboration with Tata Memorial Hospital. What began as a heartfelt tribute to her father and brother-in-law, both lost to cancer within the same year, has grown into a movement of compassion, courage, and collective strength — one that continues to change lives and rekindle hope where it’s needed most.

Now, in its 13th year, MCAN stands as a living testament to what humanity can achieve when hearts unite for a greater cause. With the steadfast support of family, friends, benefactors, and the extraordinary dedication of Tata Memorial Hospital’s doctors and medical teams, MCAN has raised and handed over more than â‚č11 crores and 82 lakhs, directly supporting the treatment of over 2,500 underprivileged cancer patients.

Together, we have given voices back to those who lost them, dignity to those in pain, and faith to those who had begun to despair. Every life touched through MCAN is a story of resilience, reminding us that hope, when shared, multiplies.

Each year, the MCAN Charity Gala brings this mission to life — an evening where glamour meets giving, and generosity takes center stage. It is a celebration not just of style, but of spirit; not just of beauty, but of belief.

This year’s Crimson Charity Gala is dedicated to the themes of Victory, Veil, and Hope:
Victory — over adversity and fear.
Veil — lifted through awareness and unity.
Hope — the eternal light that guides our way towards a cancer-free tomorrow.

From loss came a legacy.
From pain, a purpose.
And from every heart that gives — a promise of healing, light, and hope.

Let’s give voice to the voiceless.
Let’s empower them.

The Mcan Foundation has raised and handed over to Tata Memorial Hospital 7 Crores 56 Lacs and 96 Thousand, in these last 13 years since its inception. To date over 1500 patients have benefited through this initiative..
This charitable foundation has been established with the single minded purpose of enriching the human experience with hope, strength and joy & help patients who are not only dejected from medication and hospitalization, but also aware that their life span is decreasing.
