Fashion Files

High heels poked into the moist lawns of the Mahalaxmi race course last Sunday as the who’s who of Mumbai landed at the Forbes Derby. Dressed in a Reiss bodycon gold shimmer dress and carrying my Birkin, I was there catching up with my friends too. Women dressed up to the nines, in big, big sunglasses, each dress sexier than the other—what’s not to love about going out?
Conversation veered to my sister’s 50th birthday party for which I was in London recently. When London comes up in conversation, can Harrods be far behind? As I indulged in some much-needed retail therapy, I was happy to see that the fashion zipcode of London was filled with the season’s hottest hue—yep, blue. My own summer/resort 2015 collection, to be previewed shortly, is predominantly Mineral Blue as well. Sexy, classy, statement separates for the well-travelled, urban woman pretty much covers what I’ve been working on. Can’t wait for you to have a peek!

I recently read a meme on the internet that made perfect sense—‘Cinderella didn’t ask for a prince. All she wanted was a night off and a dress.’ I think this sums up how just about every woman I know feels. And I’m more than happy to oblige her with that dress she wears on that fabulous night out in town.

And this is what I love about fashion—whether for the high-flying corporate woman or the stylish homemaker, there’s something for everyone. But it’s only the innately stylish woman of discerning taste who can make the most of it. Are you her…?
