Less is more

After the humongous success of MCAN’s show this year, it was time to gear up for the festive season. I love the onset of the festive season – lights, festivities, vibrancy & great spirits all around. While Diwali always marks the beginning of a flamboyant & hectic partying period, the gear soon shifts to another exciting chapter of this season: THE WEDDING SEASON!

While the bride has planned her look months ahead, the bride’s family & friends more often than not tend to leave the decision of what to wear pretty much to the last minute. And with the hectic season demanding so much of our time where we have to go from one ‘do’ to another – it’s important to look fresh and feel comfortable.

The festivities demand colour and opulence. We feel like wearing our burnt oranges, our saved up banarasis, the favourite uncut haars……and why not….it’s the time to play dress up!

It is mandatory to embrace the ethnic look with panache at the weddings. Rock the look by teaming your sarees & lehengas with sensual blouses. Wear your majestic & regal voluminous floor length kurtas (if it’s the classic & timeless chikankari kurta you are sure to emerge with a winning look) or drape a gold Swiss chantilly lace saree. Try a low cut Swarovski nude blouse with any saree or a long structured kurta with a flared palazzo to look simply glam.

It is the season of effulgence so bring it on….blast your wardrobe…..try the hot pinks, the burnt oranges, the peacock blues, the emerald greens…..and yeah do not forget the classic deep red!!!

While you are playing with the hues and choosing fabrics that suit your body type the best, remember to wear it right…..keep it strong and simple…..make a statement! Be comfortable in your look – After all less is more!

The makeup should be matte, strong eyes and blushed cheeks….add that bronzer to sparkle the gloss, keep the lips full and smack on that colour of choice – soft yet sexy!

Go all out and experiment with your hairdos….push the boundaries, don’t keep it boring & usual. I personally love experimenting with my hairdos. Hairstyles make a very strong statement. Experiment with twists and braids, tight & high ponies, slick top knots or voluminous blow dries – eventually you must nail the look.

Last but not the least, team up your ensemble with your tallest heels or comfy wedges…after all right shoes elevates any dressing.

And once you are ready with your effortless look, put on your best smile and help to make the day a memorable one for the couple.

Wear it strong but wear it right!!!
Enjoy this festive season!!!!!!
