Called The Shots!

I woke up this morning with the biggest smile on my face—it was like I had slept with a hanger in my mouth! After days and weeks and months of going nuts, I finally launched my summer/resort wear collection, Mineral Blue, last evening, and what an event it was!

I’m still reeling from the compliments and I am particularly proud of this event. The decor, my collection and even how I had paired my look with the theme of the event wowed my guests. The decor was exquisite—an ethereal tunnel of twigs, orchids, blue bulbs and cherry blossoms that led the way had a fairytale-like effect. In the main exhibition area, we set up a ‘photo shoot’ with mannequins sitting atop a Harley Davidson, showcasing pieces from the collection. Further in, we placed white wooden ladders off which the clothes hung to create the vision I had for the racks.

While I was putting the theme together, details were of utmost importance. Blue cupcakes with an M on each, and blue mineral water bottles by Blue Pine served as giveaways for the guests. Keeping with the Mineral Blue theme, I dressed in a short denim skirt and a tie-and-dye kaftan tunic from my collection, and paired this with my blue Alexander McQueen peep-toes. It was a clean summer look with my hair swept up in a top knot, and fresh, dewy makeup.

My friends wholeheartedly participated, chatted while sipping their margaritas, spent quality time together and thoroughly enjoyed the mood of the evening. After working so hard, this overwhelming response is sincerely humbling. God is always with me; He gives me the strength to always surpass expectations and keep the world talking… to raise the bar each time and to deal with the pressure with grace. I am blessed to have this kind of support and I hope that, every time, I can deliver to the best of my capacity.
